It is finally here. The book collaboration I had the honor of being a part of is available for purchase on Amazon and I could literally cry.
I also want to throw up. Haha!
It has been a decades long dream of mine to write and have my words and heart published. Whether it be a book, an article, or even a contributing post, my goal with my writing has always been to empower, equip and encourage women all over the world in the comfort of their homes.
Writing my chapter in this book was both cathartic and challenging for me. I knew that there was an art to writing, and following a process, a blueprint, and even a deadline (oh the pressure!) provided me with a new perspective to this beautiful form of art.
With my chapter, I decided to tell the story of my divorce and what God taught me during those lonely and hard days. I learned a lot. I grew a lot. Today, the woman behind this blog post is not the same woman from six and a half years ago. Life is much richer. I see sunshine. I am stronger, happier, and healed.
However, when I decided to contribute my chapter, I really struggled at first with the process of telling my story. I did not want to shame or disparage anyone, but it was incredibly important for me to be honest and as open and vulnerable for my readers.
You will read in my chapter a bit about my initial reaction when my life as I knew it imploded.
It wasn’t pretty. I’ll give you that. At first draft, I questioned whether I should include it.
It was, however, absolutely raw and honest about where I was at that time. And then, what God did after that, in me and through me was made all the more evident. I am so glad I kept it in. I want you to see exactly how the Lord walked me through that difficult season in my life, as messy and imperfect as it was. I had a lot of growing up to do during that time. Girl, God really showed me!
I also struggled with being soft in my writing. Those who know me well know that I am not a soft woman. I am cackling as I type this.
I am kind. I love big. But I am also direct and to the point. So trying to soften the tone within my chapter for my readers was a learning experience. Still not quite sure I achieved soft….but my hope is that you, the reader, are encouraged and equipped and empowered.
That you know deep within that no matter what you are going through, there is hope. There is goodness. There is transformation. There are mercies anew every morning.
For those of you who have already picked up your copy, thank you!
If you would like to buy the book and read my story and nine other hope filled stories, you can grab it here on Amazon
Thank you so much for being here. I am eager for everyone to read this amazing book.
Rooting you on,
Tiffany Rhea
